It’s been a while since I’ve had a creative outlet and I’m super excited about writing in this little space on the big web. We are getting ready to welcome our second little boy and make our military move to a new area in just a few short months. And my little guy just turned two.

I love the quote, “The days are long, but the years are short.” There has definitely been some long days, and even longer colicky nights but overall the last two years went by in a flash. While it hasn’t been a cake-walk, I do feel that I’ve been blessed with the advice given by so many older moms ~ to enjoy every moment. Of course it’s easier sometimes than others, but I do love being a mother. And seriously a big hug to all the moms who have been real about their motherhood challenges. It makes the nutty days of cheerios and endless diapers feel normal.

Getting this kid to talk is like pulling teeth (obviously this is from his dad’s side because who are we kidding?) Ev’s choosing not to say a ton even though I know he can but he does boss around the pups by pointing his little finger at them and telling them to ‘sit’ which sounds like another word all together ~ but it’s still adorable. To his dad and me, the word is ‘no’. Not so adorable. I’m still waiting for him to call me mama. Not that he hasn’t said it yet, but it’s few and far between. His favorite things this week: the Aquadoodle (a birthday gift from the grandparents), bath crayons, roasted sweet potatoes, Despicable Me and sharing his breakfast with the dogs.
