5.4 Business Transfers
In the unlikely event that Life on Purpose School, LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We would notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
6. HIPAA-Specific Disclosures
Important: This section applies specifically to individuals receiving licensed psychotherapy services through angelasue.com.
Angela Sue Garvey, MA, LMFTA, is a licensed marriage and family therapist in Washington State. All clinical therapy records, including intake forms, session notes, treatment plans, and billing records associated with therapy services, are protected under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
As a therapy client, you have specific rights under HIPAA, including the right to access your clinical records, request amendments, and receive an accounting of certain disclosures. These rights are described in detail in our separate Notice of Privacy Practices, which is provided to every therapy client during the intake process and is also available upon request.
What is NOT covered by HIPAA: Information collected through coaching services, educational courses, merchandise purchases, workshop registrations, email subscriptions, and donations is not protected health information under HIPAA. This non-clinical information is governed by this Privacy Policy.

Terms and services.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using any website owned or operated by Angela Sue Garvey or Life on Purpose School, LLC (collectively referred to as “we,” “us,” or “our”), including angelasue.com and selferasuretherapy.com (collectively, the “Sites”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Sites.
You must be at least 18 years of age to purchase any services, products, or digital content through our Sites. By making a purchase, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old.
These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Sites, regardless of which specific site you are visiting.
2. Description of Services
Our Sites offer a range of services, products, and educational content across three brands. The nature of each offering differs, and the terms governing each vary accordingly.
Therapy Services (angelasue.com): Angela Sue Garvey is a licensed marriage and family therapist associate (LMFTA) in the state of Washington. Therapy services are provided exclusively via telehealth to clients located in Washington State. All therapy services are governed by a separate Therapy Client Agreement, informed consent documentation, and applicable state and federal regulations, including HIPAA. Therapy services are not a substitute for emergency medical services. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please call 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline), 911, or go to your nearest emergency room.
Coaching Services (angelasue.com): Coaching services are non-clinical, non-therapeutic, and available nationally. Coaching is not therapy, does not establish a therapist-client relationship, and is not a substitute for licensed mental health treatment. All coaching engagements are governed by a separate Coaching Agreement.
Courses and Digital Products (angelasue.com): Online courses, workbooks, assessments, guides, and other digital products are educational in nature. They do not constitute therapy, medical advice, or a therapist-client relationship.
Merchandise (angelasue.com): Physical products, including apparel, accessories, and other merchandise, are sold through our e-commerce platform under the Text My Therapist brand. All merchandise purchases are subject to the purchase and refund terms outlined in Section 5 of these Terms.
Workshops and Resources (selferasuretherapy.com): Self-Erasure Therapy™ offers free and donation-based community workshops and educational resources. These workshops are educational in nature and do not constitute therapy, clinical treatment, or a therapist-client relationship.
IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: All content published on these Sites, including blog posts, social media content, videos, podcast episodes, newsletter content, and downloadable resources, is provided for educational and informational purposes only. This content does not constitute therapy, medical advice, psychological treatment, or a therapist-client relationship. Reading, viewing, or engaging with our content does not create a professional relationship of any kind.
3. Intellectual Property
All content on the Sites, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, audio, video, course materials, workshop curricula, frameworks, assessments, and digital products, is the property of Angela Sue Garvey and Life on Purpose School, LLC, and is protected by United States copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Limited Personal Use: Visitors and followers may share links to our content and may quote brief excerpts (under 100 words) with proper attribution to Angela Sue Garvey / Life on Purpose School. Attribution must include a link to the original source when shared digitally.
Workshop Attendees and Course Students: You may apply concepts from our frameworks and materials to your personal life and personal growth. You may NOT teach, present, train others in, or commercialize any of our proprietary frameworks, methodologies, or materials without a separate written licensing agreement. This includes, but is not limited to, incorporating our frameworks into your own courses, workshops, coaching programs, therapy practice materials, presentations, or published works.
4. User Conduct
When using our Sites, participating in courses or workshops, or communicating with us or other participants, you agree to the following:

You will not engage in harassment, abuse, threats, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior toward Angela, her team, or other participants in any course, workshop, group program, or online community.

You will not use automated tools, bots, scrapers, or other automated means to access, collect, or interact with the Sites or their content.

You will not misrepresent your relationship with Angela Sue Garvey, Life on Purpose School, Text My Therapist, or Self-Erasure Therapy™, including falsely claiming endorsement, affiliation, or partnership.

You will not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Sites, related systems, or networks.
We reserve the right to remove any user from courses, workshops, or communities, and to restrict access to the Sites, for violations of these conduct standards.
5. Purchases, Payments, and Refunds
Therapy Services: Payment terms for therapy are governed by the Therapy Client Agreement and, where applicable, insurance contracts. Therapy payment policies are not covered by these Terms.
Coaching Services: Payment terms for coaching engagements are governed by a separate Coaching Agreement. Cancellations require a minimum of 24 hours notice. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice may be forfeited.
Courses and Digital Products: All sales of digital products (workbooks, assessments, guides, downloadable resources) and online courses are final. No refunds will be issued once access has been granted or the product has been delivered. By purchasing a course or digital product, you acknowledge and agree that all sales are final.
Merchandise (Text My Therapist): Returns and exchanges are accepted within thirty (30) days of delivery for items that are unworn, unwashed, and in original condition with tags attached. Custom or personalized items are final sale. Approved returns will be refunded to the original payment method. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item was defective or shipped in error.
Workshops (Self-Erasure Therapy™): Free workshops have no payment terms. For donation-based events, donations are voluntary and non-refundable.
Payment Processing: Payments are processed through third-party payment processors, which may include Stripe and/or PayPal. By making a purchase, you also agree to the terms of service and privacy policies of the applicable payment processor. We do not store your payment card information on our servers.
6. Disclaimers
The information and content provided on our Sites, including blog posts, social media content, newsletter content, course materials, workshop materials, and downloadable resources, is for educational and informational purposes only.
Even though Angela Sue Garvey is a licensed marriage and family therapist associate (LMFTA), content consumed outside of a formal therapy relationship is educational, not clinical. Reading our content, taking our courses, attending our workshops, or engaging with our social media does not establish a therapist-client relationship and does not constitute personalized clinical advice.
Our content is not a substitute for professional therapy, counseling, psychiatric treatment, or medical care. If you are in crisis or experiencing a mental health emergency, please contact the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988), call 911, or go to your nearest emergency room.
Results from coaching, courses, workshops, or engagement with our educational content are not guaranteed. 7. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or related to the Sites, services, products, or content exceed the amount you paid to us for the specific service or product giving rise to the claim during the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to liability.
We shall not be held liable for any delay or failure to perform obligations under these Terms when such delay or failure results from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to illness, technology failures, natural disasters, pandemics, acts of government, or other force majeure events.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Angela Sue Garvey, Life on Purpose School, LLC, and their officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from: (a) your use of and access to the Sites; (b) your violation of any provision of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party right, including any intellectual property, privacy, or proprietary right; or (d) your misuse of any content, frameworks, or materials obtained from the Sites.

Our Sites may contain links to third-party websites, services, and applications, including but not limited to SimplePractice (scheduling and billing), Calendly (appointment scheduling), KIT (email marketing), social media platforms, and payment processors.

We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to the terms and conditions of those third parties.
10. User-Generated Content
Our Sites and services may allow you to submit, post, or share content, including comments, testimonials, workshop participation, course discussions, and feedback (collectively, “User Content”).
By submitting User Content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, modify, and display such content in connection with operating and promoting our Sites and services. This includes the right to use anonymized testimonials and feedback in marketing materials, with your permission obtained separately.
We reserve the right to monitor, review, and remove any User Content at our sole discretion, for any reason, including content that violates these Terms or that we find objectionable, harmful, or inaccurate.
HIPAA Commitment: We will never use identifiable therapy client information in marketing, testimonials, or any public-facing content. All client privacy protections required by HIPAA and Washington State law are strictly maintained. Any testimonials used are shared only with the explicit, informed, written consent of the individual, and therapy client testimonials are handled in accordance with all applicable ethical and legal standards.
11. Dispute Resolution
Governing Law: These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Informal Resolution: Before initiating any formal legal proceedings, you agree to first contact us in writing and engage in a good-faith effort to resolve any dispute informally within thirty (30) days of the written notice.
Mediation: If informal resolution is unsuccessful, the parties agree to attempt to resolve the dispute through mediation administered by a mutually agreed-upon mediator in Spokane County, Washington, before pursuing litigation.
Venue: Any legal action or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Spokane County, Washington, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
Small Claims Exception: Either party may bring an individual action in small claims court in Spokane County, Washington, for disputes within the jurisdictional limits of that court.
12. Privacy
Your use of our Sites is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using the Sites, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
13. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify or update these Terms at any time at our sole discretion.
